Methodism in Harrogate has been traced back almost as far as John Wesley's day, and since its opening in 1862 Wesley Chapel has been a dominant landmark in Harrogate and has played a major role in town centre life. The work of its people carries on from a long tradition of devotion to the town.
You are welcome into our chapel whenever it is open, whether you join us for worship, to pray, enjoy the peace or just to view our lovely building.
Meet our Ministerial Team
Rev. Lesley Taylor
Lesley joined us on 1 September 2020 from our neighboring Wharfedale and Aireborough Circuit. Lesley is also minister at Starbeck and Bilton Area Methodist Churches. She is assisted at Wesley by Rev. Trevor.
Lesley loves gardening and walking as well as reading, particularly crime thrillers and is interested in learning to quilt.
Rev. Trevor Dixon
Trevor is a Supernumerary Minister in the Nidd Valley Methodist Circuit and has made Wesley Chapel his home where he assists Lesley with presbyter and pastoral duties.
Trevor masterminded and project-managed our renovations and modernisation programme at Wesley in 2014, and is our PA system expert.
Among many other interests Trevor is a railway enthusiast and loves holidaying in his new caravan with his family (when time allows).
